Experiments in Spatial Minimalism
November 1997
CD, cassette
seconal records, sr2345

This album happened because of Sheri Bickerton. This was the revival and new era of a more serious pw, the 4-track was put aside and Sheri introduced me to two amazing men John Purvis and Valdon. Sessions were all on cold-rainy fall weekend nights after college and I won't forget the runs for Green Tea at midnight. I can speak forever about John—he believed in me, produced and engineered two amazing pw albums and taught me about digital recording. I had never given over production and engineering to another person before, but I respect this man so much that I let him take charge. We had a machine that would have made a lot of heads turn, but sadly, John moved to Pittsburgh and I can’t find him. He made some amazing electronica and is probably doing so to this day. This album lays groundwork for the mixture of electronica and emo-pop that followed—le view chat exemplifies this. We lost the original takes so John had to piece this one together. We even mic’ed the rain…
