pupa's window vs. Private Eleanor I met Austin through Chris and Joylene and at first we really said nothing to one another. I was not sure what he was thinking until after the reception at Chris and Joylene's wedding (one of the best moments of the last 2 years for me) we were all hanging out in the honeymoon suite and Austin pulls out this homemade 'Private Eleanor' CD. He gives it to Chris-Austin is dressed in his indie sport coat (which I thought was cool) and leaves. Weeks later Chris is listening to this CD in the car and says "I think I finally found something that reminds me of pw" I was skeptical until he played me a few tracks on a rainy day in Fells Point. The musical connections were uncanny. This seven-inch I think was done out of a mutual respect for what each other was trying to do and was a way for each of us to say 'we are going to start working together' and what a year it has been. In only one year, we have jumped leaps and bounds. But that is what happens when two people who really get it about each other on an artistic and personal level get together and work on something they both believe in. This seven inch is one of the crowning achievements of pw.
The title may have competitive connotations, but this was actually a cooperative effort. Each artist brought in two songs, and then all four were performed and recorded together. Recorded at the University of Maryland School of Medicine during summer 2002. Translucent blue vinyl.
